We could finally see the lakes we'd walked by in the dark. That color is not a mistake. Glacier fed lakes often take on that bright turqoise. On our way down Bruce told me he'd had a bad gut feeling about the climb the night before, which contributed to his recommendation we head back. A couple hours into our hike down, we saw rescue helicopters heading towards the glacier. Who knows about these things, it may have just been jitters, or it may have been something else.
