They told us it would take at least 2 hours to get from our campsite to the base of the V. Beyond the fact that it is a lot further than it looks, there were HUGE sun cups, some 3' deep to maneuver around. All those lines you see near the rock, or rows of sun cups. If you can see them from this far away, they're big. We decided to rest that day and climb the V on Sunday.
